Jason & Kristy

Love Under African Skies: Jason and Kristy’s Enchanting Wedding at Tiger Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe

As much as we love planning weddings, nothing beats seeing and being a part of our close friends in real weddings! We love when we are able to find the perfect accent pieces to make their vision of their wedding come to life, their wedding in Chirundu, was no exception. The brides pretty pairing of colours matched their personalities who are true romantics at heart. The brides soft and feminine nature came through her decor but yet never forgot the key wow moments that stood out from the crowd – the perfect way to make a style statement.

In the heart of Chirundu, Zimbabwe, Jason and Kristy’s love story unfolded against the backdrop of the untamed African wilderness at the Tiger Safari Lodge. Their wedding, a captivating celebration of love and commitment, featured a theme that painted the night in blush pink and pastel blue hues—a color palette as soft and sweet as their journey together.

CEREMONY

This wedding had an elegant, slightly rustic feel. The bride chose lots of blush pink with a few dusty blue accents thrown in. The largest accent piece of all was our Sphere wedding arch which framed the prestigious river that links Zambia & Zimbabwe which was used as the ceremony backdrop. The venue’s gorgeous green trees and beautiful natural scenery complimented the decor perfectly!

The arch was also the perfect backdrop for photos of the whole party with the sunset in the background.

To decorate the top of the aisle the bride chose a couple of our distressed golden urns to sit on top of white pinths placed on either side with a beautiful old dug out boat for their ceremony pre-drinks. The florist also placed accents of blush flowers and greenery to round out the look.

The bride incorporated the elements into their wedding day with a selection of shades of pink and blue bridesmaid dresses. She couldn’t have done a better job in choosing colours for each bridesmaid to match the colours to suit their skin tone and personal preference, she paired it beautifully with earrings for each bridesmaid as part of their gifts.

The couple’s love affair with the wild began long before their wedding day, with the Tiger Safari Lodge providing the perfect canvas for their love to flourish. Surrounded by the sounds of nature and the rustling leaves of the Zambezi River nearby, Jason and Kristy exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony with a floral-adorned round arch.

Kristy, a vision of elegance, glided down the aisle in a gown that complemented the natural beauty of the surroundings. Her bouquet, a delicate arrangement of pastels and pink blooms, added a touch of romance to the rustic setting. Jason, waiting at the altar with a circular floral arch, couldn’t hide his admiration as his bride approached.

PRE-DRINKS

Moving onto the sweet stuff – let’s talk about the wedding cake! The couple cleverly decided to incorporate their cake cutting during their group photo to ensure the tastiest parts of the wedding were not forgotten thanks to Fatto A Manno.
Chiara creatively added a touch of modern-luxe to their cake, which was thoroughly enjoyed on the dessert station. Is anyone else beginning to feel rather peckish…?

We cant forget the lawn games and golf chipping into the river was a party favourite as the couple and bridal party enjoyed their photos.

RECEPTION

As we headed into the evening with the gorgeous orange sunset, the guests were led into the evening under a canopy of fairy lights under the nights sky.

The reception encapsulated the blush pink, dusty blue and sage greens rounded off beautifully. The epitome of country garden perfection, this colour scheme is utterly elegant. Using pink as the main colour within the palette, an extra hint of luxury with silver accents was used throughout, along with a few silver details for an added dash of luxe.

As always, the florals did a lot of the talking, but the tapered candles, charger plates, blush champagne glasses and pale pink dusty blue ‘On the Day’ stationery across your wedding tables really helped to tie it in together, just for jaw-dropping photographs!

I love working with couples who have something that signifies them as individuals, they are renowned for breaking down the dance floor and staying young at heart and this couple nailed it for sure. Bringing their first dance into the evening in front of their old time favourite Isuzu car spot lights. It was bound to be a night to remember and that it was!

Which pink wedding colour scheme is your favourite? We’d love to know which one you’d go for!

The reception area, adorned with blush pink and pastel blue table settings, exuded an air of understated sophistication. The couple’s choice of a fusion menu, combining local flavours with international cuisine, delighted guests and showcased their love for blending the traditional with the contemporary.

As the night unfolded, guests were treated to the enchanting sight of an open air tent adorned with fairy lights, casting a warm glow over the celebration. However, the key moment of the night was reserved for Jason and Kristy’s first dance—a tradition they started long before the wedding day.

The couple, in a nod to their journey together, took to the dance floor in front of their Isuzu headlights, recreating a tradition they began when they first got together. The bright glow of the headlights illuminated their smiles, creating a magical ambiance as they swayed to the rhythm of their love.

The dance floor soon filled with friends and family, joining the couple in their unique celebration. Laughter and joy echoed through the night as everyone embraced the enchanting atmosphere that surrounded Jason and Kristy’s love-filled celebration.

As the evening drew to a close, the couple departed , a radiant send-off for a love that burned as brightly as the African stars above. Jason and Kristy’s wedding at Tiger Safari Lodge was not just a celebration of their love, but a harmonious blend of nature’s beauty and the warmth of their connection—a love story destined to thrive under the vast African skies.

In the heart of Chirundu, where the Zambezi River weaves its tales, Jason and Kristy’s love story continues—a tale painted with blush pink and pastel blue hues, and the enduring magic of an Isuzu-lit dance beneath the African stars.
