Read on to discover what makes up a typical hour appointment at a Bride&co wedding dress fitting, as well as some tips and tricks to help you prepare!
TIP ONE
First off – make a booking! Don’t let yourself be caught up in our gorgeous website images or Instagram page – we highly recommend trying on the dresses to see what truly suits you! Bride&co offers hourly appointments at all stores across the country.
For a guaranteed one-on-one consultation – book your appointment via our website or give us a call, otherwise simply walk in and we will do our best to accommodate you.
TIP TWO
Before your appointment, collect the styles and dresses that you love. Try to understand what it is that you love about the dress- is it the silhouette, the open-back, or the exquisite embellishing?
Also be ready to share any big day information that may impact your dress selection, such as location or big day must-haves. The more information that you can share, the easier it will be to discover your dream dress!
The Day of your Fitting
Example Appointment Time 10:00AM
Within the hour of your wedding dress fitting you can realistically expect to try on between five and seven gowns, with enough time for a second look at your favourites.
Here’s a basic overview of what you can expect:
09:45
On the day of your wedding dress fitting, we recommend that you arrive 10-15 minutes early. After a short registration, you’ll be directed to the gown gallery where you’ll meet your experienced in-store consultant who will guide you through the wedding dresses and where you can immerse yourself in the gowns on the floor.
10:00
Your consultant will guide you through our range and spend some time getting to know you and understanding your wedding day. It’s important to share the dresses, silhouettes and big day details that you have in mind, including budgets, timeframes, and personal preferences.
TIP THREE
Falling in love is a very private journey and falling in love with your wedding dress is no different. Keep the numbers of guests at your wedding dress fitting small and close. Too many opinions can distract from the beautiful and personal experience of finding your gown, and your inner bride.
10:10AM
It’s time for the magic! Your consultant will show you to your personal fitting room and bring in the range of gowns you selected. Each gown is a unique and delicate piece, often a little complicated to get into to, so your consultant will remain with you to assist you as you try on each dress. Your consultant is there to be completely honest and in tune with you, so this one-on-one time is a great opportunity to get unbiased opinions before you show friends and family
TIP FOUR
Because your stylist stays with you throughout, make sure you wear underwear that you will be comfortable in around her. We recommend taking along a comfy bra, as well as a strapless one. Alternatively, open-back dresses may require no bra at all. We also have a range of backless and strapless bras to suit the style of dress you choose. Chat to your style consultant about what you are and aren’t comfortable with.

You’ve “ooohed” and “ahhed” over each gorgeous wedding gown you’ve tried on, but it’s time to take a second peek at your top 2 or 3. As you relook your favourites, try and imagine yourself on your big day, at your wedding venue. Try on a veil you love, a tiara, or even some jewellery from our selection to complete the look- and give you a better understanding of how the look will come together. When your vision comes alive, and your inner bride defines herself, that’s when you know you have found the one… your dream wedding dress!

After the sweet emotions of finding your wedding dress have washed over you and your guests, it’s time to talk measurements, fittings and next steps. Luckily, Bride&co offer an in-house seamstress for alterations, so any changes or amendments can be chatted through at your next fitting.
11:00
It’s time to commit and either purchase or order your dress! If you’d like to take a few days to absorb and think – no problem! Simply let your consultant know that you’ll phone through in a few days – she will keep your sizes and details on file. If you do choose to order on the day, your dress can either be taken with you or kept securely at the store.
TIP FIVE
It takes a while to order and craft your wedding dress, so try order your wedding dress at least 4-6 months before your big day. This ensures that you get to your big day collected, fearless and glowing in your dream dress. This being said, many of our styles are available to take home right off the floor!
