How did your love story begin?
Our love story began with each of our views being very different.
I recall meeting Chris when I worked behind a bar, after our introduction, I remember thinking this is the man I am going to marry. Chris seems to recall our meeting through an introduction at a house party.

Tell us about the proposal.
Chris proposed to me, at the top of the Chilojo cliffs in Gonarezahou national park, Zimbabwe after dating for 9 long years. He asked me to take some photos of our friends that had joined us on this trip which were on the opposite cliff to us. I turned around and he was on one knee. Pretty much a blur, I remember dropping to my knees in tears, uncontrollable emotions. He then said: “Lundi you need to get off your knees and answer my question.”. Laughing, I stood up wiping my red face full of tears and said “Of course!”.

How did you find the planning process?
My planning process was effortless, easy and well organised once the initial pick of our venue was decided.
Where did you draw your planning inspiration from?
From our 9 years of building our life together, we spent a lot of time in the outdoors, camping, national parks. My inspiration was highly influenced by our sense of adventure, open spaces and out doors. This is something I see being the essence of who we are as a couple.

What was the most memorable and special part of your wedding day?
The most memorable and special part of our wedding day was my complete and utter excitement to see my husband to be on the day we get to start forever together.
What was your wedding theme (if you had one) and why did you choose it?
I wouldn’t call it a theme, its was more of a vibe, I chose this as it represented us in a nutshell, open, elegant, clean but modern.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding dress as well as the bridesmaids’ dresses?
My inspiration on my wedding dress was effortless beauty with a touch of sexy.
For my bridesmaids dresses I wanted them each to have their own style, something that represented them that fell into earthy outdoor vibes of wedding.

Your décor and flowers: Do you have a specific reason why you chose what you did?
My decor and flowers ( Or lack there of on the flowers at least) just felt right, felt like us, simplistic, minimalistic with maximum visual impact.

Did you incorporate any DIY items?
No we didn’t, being so far away in the planning process didn’t give us the luxury of doing any DIY items.

What song did you choose for your opening dance and why?
Our opening dance was “I run to you” by Lady Antebellum.
Country music is something that bought us close together and kept us there, it is a part of our every day life.

What is your favourite, will-never-forget memory of your big day?
I will never forget the way I felt walking in to a room of our closest family and friends, announcing us as Mr & Mrs Strydom. The support in that room is something I will never forget.
Any advice for other brides-to-be/grooms-to-be who are busy planning their big day?
Advice I have to give is: Plan for you, and enjoy every moment of it, don’t stress the little things.

Did you go on honeymoon and if so, where did you go?
We have not been yet but plan to at the end of the year, we will be going to Paris. ( I have always wanted to go)
