🌹 Roses, Rain & Romance: Kudzi & Amelia’s Fairytale Garden ‘I Do’

📍 Private Garden Estate | A Rainy Day Wedding Full of Whimsy & Wonder

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck—but for Tray and Amelia, it was the final touch to their real-life fairytale. From the blush-toned roses to the soft drizzle that danced on the petals, this garden wedding was a poetic celebration of love, nature, and a couple who embraced every perfectly imperfect moment.

💌 Their Story: From Tinder to Tulips

Tray and Amelia met the modern way—a right swipe that turned into forever. After their first date at a botanical café in Harare, they bonded over their love for books, classic jazz, and long Sunday walks.

Fast-forward three years, and Tray proposed in a garden full of wild roses—so naturally, a floral-filled garden wedding was the only way to say “I do.”

🌸 The Ceremony: Petals, Umbrellas & a Whole Lot of Love

Held at a lush private estate just outside Borrowdale, the ceremony was set beneath a floral arch bursting with garden roses, baby's breath, and trailing ivy.

As guests arrived, so did the rain—but instead of panicking, Amelia walked down the aisle with a transparent umbrella in one hand and her bouquet in the other, smiling like a girl in a movie scene. Guests were handed matching umbrellas, adding a touch of whimsy to an already dreamy moment.

The couple exchanged vows surrounded by soft raindrops, the scent of damp earth and fresh flowers filling the air. It was intimate, emotional, and completely unforgettable.

🍰 Garden Glam Reception: A Little Bridgerton, A Lot of Southern Africa

The reception took place under a clear marquee lit with chandeliers and strands of fairy lights, blending classic garden-party glam with romantic Southern African flair.

🌿 Décor Details:

Blush and cream roses cascading down long wooden tables

Vintage gold cutlery and delicate lace runners

Personalised name cards with pressed flowers

Rain-kissed glassware sparkling under candlelight

Tray wore a custom forest-green velvet jacket, while Amelia changed into a silk slip dress with beaded tulle sleeves—pure romance. Their first dance happened barefoot under twinkling lights as the rain eased into a soft mist.

🎶 Sounds, Sweets & Sentimental Touches

Guests were serenaded by a string quartet playing love ballads with a Zimbabwean twist. Instead of a traditional cake, the couple offered a dessert table filled with mazoe-glazed doughnuts, lemon and rosewater tarts, and mini carrot cakes.

Each guest left with a packet of wildflower seeds and a tag that read:

“Plant these and think of love that grows.”

🥂 Tray & Amelia’s Advice?

“Embrace the weather, the chaos, the emotion—it’s all part of your story. Honestly, the rain made it feel like a dream we’ll never forget.”
