Celebrate Heritage Through Vivid Attire
A few years ago I attended a wedding in South Africa for a friend from my university days. One visual element I clearly noticed is the explosion of color in the traditional attire. The families coordinated in breathtaking palettes of fabric that told a story.
The bride's family wore rich shweshwe prints in bold blues and oranges, while the groom's family answered in vibrant greens and yellows. This created a moving canvas during the ceremony and celebrations. You see this beautiful clash of colors in the guests' outfits, the decor, and even the wedding party's blankets.
As they explained, the colors often represent family heritage, clans, or well-wishes for the couple. The visual impact is immediate and joyful. You feel the warmth and community spirit through the colors before anyone even speaks. It makes the wedding feel deeply personal and connected to the land and its people.

Spotlight Intricate Beads and Patterned Textiles
Everything about Southern African wedding schemes is colorful. I shot a bride and wedding party running around in striking patterned attire and beaded accessories that was stunning on the natural setting. To get the same effect, include cutaway shots of the intricate details and a drone.
Above shots of the lively textiles is the way to go.
